Starting as a new player, you will need to collect yellow coins in order to unlock characters/outfits, upgrade abilities, etc. As you progress through the game objectives and begin to upgrade the Coin Value ability, red and blue coins will begin to appear along the track. Each coin has a different value.

The Coin Doubler is a special feature that doubles the value of coins collected while running in Temple Run 2. After you have activated the Coin Doubler, those coins are valued at 2, 4, and 6 respectively.
